About the Author
Deborah J. Clarke
Deborah J. Clarke is a mother, daughter, sister, friend, former attorney, activist and insane Rafa Nadal and Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Deborah was born in Bradford, England and moved to the United States with her family when she was six years old. She’s lived in Pittsburgh, Houston, Cambridge England, Norman Oklahoma, Seattle and Southern California where she now resides — her two adult sons, almost-daughter-in-law and her only grandson, a Goldendoodle named Sir Westley, living nearby. This year, she finished her dream project, a spa and swimming pool, which is literally saving her life!
She was a partner at “Big Law” in Los Angeles for over 20 years and literally worked herself into serious illnesses, chronic pain and permanent disability. This blog is a warning of sorts — how NOT to do what she did to herself – and how to take life a little less seriously! Women, especially professional women, are told they can have it all. Well, that very much depends on how you define “all” and the quality and quantity of your support team!
She knows there is no right way to live our sticky, beautiful, messy lives. But there are women who have walked this rocky beach before us willing to share every rare pearl of wisdom they found along the way. Deborah is one of those women. And she will tell it like it is! Oh yes, she did just say that!
